- “There’s a lot going on in the world; let’s focus on that rather than creating clickbait,” a spokesperson for Meghan Markle has said following a recent report by The Sun.

A rep for Meghan Markle released a statement over the weekend following a report by The Sun that she’d “taken the unprecedented action of removing” her names Rachel Meghan, from Archie’s birth certificate to only include “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex” under the ‘mother’ category.
“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials. This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex,” a spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday, per E! News.
“To see this UK tabloid and their carnival of so-called ‘experts’ chose to deceptively whip this into a calculated family ‘snub’ and suggest that she would oddly want to be nameless on her child’s birth certificate, or any other legal document, would be laughable were it not offensive,” the statement continued. “There’s a lot going on in the world; let’s focus on that rather than creating clickbait.”
The story and statement comes amid Meghan’s ongoing battle with Associated Newspapers Ltd – the latest proceedings saw Thomas Markle take centre stage as he spoke of the letter in question marking the end of his relationship with the duchess.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK in the coming months, though sources say they are unsure if Meghan and Archie will join him.
