Were not suggesting it [RBWH] will be one single [COVID-19] hospital across the whole state, because we would still be using others outside the Brisbane area as well.
We are just looking at what this would require, what services would need to be around those wards, and how many beds would need to be set aside.
Deputy Chief Health Officer Sonya Bennett said while the investigation into the outbreak linked to the PA Hospital ward was continuing, it was not believed PPE breaches were the cause.
There certainly was, in the most recent case, very unusual circumstances and not related to a breach of PPE, per se, so thats what the investigation will look at, what are the other factors, she said.
Ive said here before there are a range of factors for transmission of the virus, and PPE is one such thing. Air flow, ventilation weve seen those issues in hotel quarantine as well.
Queensland recorded no new locally acquired coronavirus cases on Sunday, but there was one new case in a returned traveller in hotel quarantine, believed to have contracted the virus in Pakistan.
On Saturday, there were three new cases one known close contact of the Brisbane northside cluster who was already in quarantine, and two historical cases who acquired the virus overseas.
On Good Friday, the state recorded eight new cases, but no new community transmission.
Of the eight, seven were in hotel quarantine, while the other was a historical case believed to be the missing link to the original cluster recorded at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in early March.
