The Oppo Find X3 Pro has been globally launched on 11 March 2021, and it’s got some pretty exciting features—including how the phone’s back has a unique curved design that takes “40 hours” to make, and the fact that it has a microscope camera. But what else about the Oppo smartphone stands out?
1. It’s curvy
The back of the Oppo Find X3 Pro has a delightfully curvy design that hoists up the phone’s four cameras. The back of the phone is a sleek metal frame with a “ceramic-like glaze” with a dual-tone and anti-glare frost matte finish.
The whole back panel is also made from one single sheet of glass. The complex shapes of the camera bump and curved sides is a result of a 40 hour process where it’s heat treated and forged to make a precise 3D mold.
The Oppo Find X3 Pro measures 163.6mm x 74mm x 8.26mm in dimension and weighs 193g. It also comes in Gloss Black and Blue.
2. A microscope lens
Like I said earlier, the X3 Pro has four cameras at the back, and a selfie camera in the front. The cameras include the 13MP Telephoto Camera, the 50MP Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera, the 50MP Wide-Angle Camera, and its most excited feature—the 3MP Microlens.
The Microlens is able to give you a new microscope-like perspective to your photos. It has up to a 60x magnification feature with its own surrounding circular ring light. With the Microlens, you’re able to look at the tiniest details like never before and shoots a video at up to 1080p with it.
3. Billion colour display
The Oppo Find X3 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen boasting a high 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio matched with 1300-nit brightness. It supports a 10-bit colour depth to deliver a display capable of reproducing one billion colours—which means it can reproduce 64 times more colours than a standard 8-bit display.
Oppo also thought of those who aren’t able to experience colour at its full glory. Colour Vision Enhancement through the Find X3 Pro can help colour-blind users experience a richer, more vibrant screen.
In order to do that, the phone has a feature called the Munsell 100 Hue Test which helps understand a user’s specific colour perception. After the test, a user will be given one of 765 potential screen calibrations that would be optimally colour-corrected for the user’s eyes.
The X3 Pro also has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a power-efficient LTPO (Low-temperature Polycrystalline Silicon and Oxide) panel.
4. Snapdragon 888
The Oppo Find X3 Pro is the latest Android phone to be powered by Qualcomms flagship Snapdragon 888 processor. And since Malaysia aims to offer 5G services by the end of this year, the chip’s 5G capabilities can be fully utilised in the country—-you’d just need to wait a while.
5. 65W fast charging
The Find X3 Pro has a large 4500mAh battery, as well as Power Saving mode and Super Power Saving. Its SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging technology supports up to 65W (10V, 6.5A) power output, and can charge up to 40 per cent in just 10 minutes.
It can also support up to 30W of wireless charging, and it can be fully charged in just 80 minutes. Additionally, it can reverse wireless charge up to 10W.
6. Hans Zimmer???
Source: Bandwagon
Oppo announced that Academy Award winning score composer Hans Zimmer—who has composed scores for films like Inception, Dunkirk and The Lion King—has created new ringtones and notification tones just for the Find X3 Pro. However, it will not appear in the phone just yet as Oppo will only roll the Hans Zimmer tones with a future update.
7. Privacy
The Oppo Find X3 Pro’s ColorOS 11.2 gives users a Private System to protect your private data. It’s a separate system where you get to see what information an app is requesting to access.
If a user doesn’t want to share data with an app, its Personal Information Protection can send a blank data file to the apps server. Users can also activate Kids Space—a restricted mode for children that includes the ability to limit individual app and overall time usage.
8. O-Sync for gaming
According to Oppo, the O-Sync Display Hyper Response Engine improves the synchronisation speed between the Find X3 Pros screen and processor. This means that when you open up a game on the phone, the response speed is “increased by three times”, and the delay is “reduced from 30-40 ms to 5-10 ms”. It makes it easier for players to shoot, jump, and duck if you’re playing games like League of Legends, Call of Duty and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
When playing games, you can also choose between Low Power, Balanced or Competition Modes. Each mode tailors your in-hand setup to pick how responsive you want it to be, and how bright the screen would be so it can help you quick-launch your favourite games.
9. Relax 2.0
The Oppo Find X3 Pro encourages mental health and relaxation with their Relax 2.0 feature. You’re able to play “relaxing” games to help relief stress and anxiety like Breath Guide, Bubble Poke, Draw Coins and more.
You can also use Relax 2.0 to mix white noise tracks, adjust the volume, and customise a relaxing sound experience to fit your taste.
10. IP68 dust and water resistance
The Find X3 Pro has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 68—which provides both dust and water resistance. According to Oppo, the phone can withstand being exposed to a significant amount of dust and it can be submerged in fresh water “up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes”.
There is no information yet on the price of the Oppo Find X3 Pro in Malaysia, but here’s how much the phone will cost in Europe from 30 March 2021:
Oppo Find X3 Pro – 12GB RAM, 256GB storage – EUR 1,149 (~RM5,647)
