With various weather warnings for wind and rain issued over recent days, the conditions around Ireland have been quite poor recently but things are set to improve over the coming week.
Met Eireann has stated that a front of high pressure is likely to influence our weather and bring settled conditions.
While the week will also see some rainy conditions, things are likely to be drier than normal for this period, with the strongest signal for drier than average conditions in the west and northwest.

At present, the meteorological service has described this week’s conditions as “changeable with some rain and showers at times but also good dry spells. Temperatures gradually increasing.”
Elsewhere, renowned weather expert Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather has said: “Some showers tomorrow but mainly dry Tuesday and Wednesday and early Thursday but there’s a risk of rain Thursday afternoon into Friday before hopefully mainly dry next weekend. Not as good as had been shown but still an improvement.”
He adds: “Next week looking better, Tuesday and Wednesday look mainly dry. Some uncertainty Thursday and Friday with risk of showers before hopefully settling down again for next weekend. The latest ECWMF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) charts even show a chance of some much milder weather next weekend!”
