“This case presented as a severe form of this syndrome, with a blood clot in the brain, known as a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis,” the TGA is quoted as saying by 7 News.
So far there have been 35 people confirmed to have contracted TTS after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Thirteen people have been marked as probable cases. Fifteen people are in hospital, one in intensive care and two have died.
Currently, the AstraZeneca vaccine is only recommended to Australians over the age of 50, due to the slight risk of blood clots.
