Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, yesterday, led a delegation of prominent Taraba indigenes to pay tribute to former Minister of Women Affairs, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, who died on Friday in Cairo, Egypt.
Ishaku expressed sadness over the demise of the female politician, popularly known as Mama Taraba. He described her as a woman of great courage, saying her death is a personal loss.
The governor urged her family to take solace in the fact that she lived a life of service to humanity and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest. Similarly, Ekiti State Governor, Dr.  Kayode Fayemi, expressed sadness over her death, describing the news as shocking and disheartening.
Fayemi, in a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Al-Hassan as a woman who believed in hard work, excellence and service to humanity. A woman who worked her way to the top of her professional through diligence and positive attitude
He said though the deceased trained as a lawyer, she was best known as a politician, whose reputation spread beyond the length and breadth of her home state.  Also, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed sadness over Aisha Alhassans death. 
Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, yesterday, in Asaba, said the deceased was a courageous and outspoken politician. Okowa said: She was my colleague at the Senate from 2011 to 2015 and was a great politician and patriotic Nigerian. She will be remembered for her contributions to the Nigerian polity, particularly her advocacy and campaign on women empowerment . 
On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I extend my profound condolences to the Alhassan family, the people of Taraba North and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba. 
It is my prayer that God will comfort all those who mourn her exit, and make her good soul repose in His bosom.The former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, described her as an accomplished civil servant, astute politician and patriot adding that: she was compassionate, bold, loyal and deeply committed to a better Nigeria.
