Spezia are on the verge of signing Fiorentina attacker Riccardo Saponara on loan with an option to buy.
Tuttomercatoweb claims the final details will be sorted in the next few hours and that Spezia are on the verge of completing their first signing in January.
The 29-year-old has been linked with Spezia on a loan deal, but the outlet claims the newly promoted side will have the option to sign the former Italy U21 international on a permanent deal in July.
The attacking midfielder has appeared twice in Serie A for the Viola this term but has struggled to carve out a space in the line-up at the Artemio Franchi.
Saponara moved to Fiorentina from Empoli in January 2017 but has since spent time on loan at Sampdoria, Genoa and Lecce.
He returned from Genoa in August 2020 and his current contract with the Viola expires in June 2022.
The attacking midfielder has vast experience from Serie A, despite having only played 34 games with Fiorentina.
Saponara has 146 appearances in Serie A, including eight games with Milan.
