President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended Ms Hadiza Usman as the Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and appointed Mohammed Koko to take over in acting capacity.
Koko is former Executive Director, Finance and Administration, at NPA.
The Corporate Communications Department of NPA could not immediately confirm the development, but a source in the Ministry of Transport told The Guardian that, the suspension is true.
Usman, the first female MD of NPA, was first appointed on July 11, 2016, and reappointed last January for another five years tenure in office.
She is one of the founders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, and is a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). She was the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State from 2015 to 2016.
