Former Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta said Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal struggles physically and halted by his age. ‘He doesn’t get to the ball in time’.
The 33-year-old gave away a penalty in the 6-2 win over Crotone and was substituted at half-time, before coach Antonio Conte warned the Chilean ‘that nobody is guaranteed a place in the Inter line-up’.
Costacurta spoke to Sky Sport Italia about the former Juventus midfielder’s return to Serie A and about the penalty against newly promoted Crotone last night.
“I believe he’s not physically well and that the challenge is dictated by that,” Costacurta said. “He thinks he’s fine at 33, in reality he doesn’t get to the ball in time.
“I couldn’t tackle in that way when I was his age, but I realised it.”
Inter scored four after the break and secured their eighth consecutive win in Serie A and the Nerazzurri sit second after 15 games.
