The transfer window is officially open for business, meaning clubs can now trade as they wish ahead of the 2021/22 campaign starting in August.
Whilst for some clubs this window will require them to box clever with their recruitment, others, such as Chelsea, have plans to splash the cash in an attempt to take themselves to an even higher level.
After laying their hands on the UEFA Champions League trophy for their second time in the history less than a fortnight ago, the Blues, who will discover their fixture list for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign next Wednesday, have grand ambitions to take that next step and challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

That was the next step that the Blues hoped to take this season, but despite spending £220million on seven new additions last summer they fell well short of achieving their ambition.
Nevertheless, there is a sense of confidence around Stamford Bridge that next season can be the Blues’ time to shine, with head coach Thomas Tuchel having made a remarkable impact in west London since his January arrival.
Although the success he has so far achieved has been impressive, the former Paris Saint-Germain chief is said to be keen on bringing in at least three new signings this summer, with his main focus being a striker. In recent weeks and months the Blues have been linked with an array of options, but it is Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland that is Tuchel’s top target.
The Norway international was in blistering form this season for Dortmund, netting a whopping 41 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions, proving exactly why he is one of the most highly-rated players on the planet. With that said, Chelsea are likely to have to spend around £150million to sign him, but that is only if Dortmund are willing to consider the idea of letting him go.

But to Chelsea’s advantage, Haaland could make their hopes of signing him that little easier after it was revealed that he is ‘interested’ in making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
If Chelsea are to strike lucky this summer and complete a big-money deal for the extremely talented Leeds-born forward, the move will no doubt create a tinge of jealousy from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who is also understood to be keen on adding him to his squad at the Etihad Stadium.
After City were drawn to face Dortmund at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League back in March, Guardiola was quizzed on what he made of Haaland’s talents and he, unsurprisingly, could not speak highly enough of the 20-year-old.
“The numbers speak for themselves, said Guardiola, as quoted by the Mirror. “Of course he’s one of the best strikers in the world right now at his age.
“I’ve seen few of his games, honestly, because I didn’t have much time. But I saw the highlights and the numbers in the Champions League and the league are impressive.

“I know the quality of this player and I think everyone knows. But in two weeks I could answer better, because I didnt see much.”
One of the best strikers in the world right now is exactly what Haaland is – and the statistics prove it. Since the start of the 2019/20 season, he has scored a total 85 goals at club level, which is a truly staggering, ridiculous return. It makes you wonder what he will be capable of producing once he reaches his ceiling.
But whatever his return rate is by the time he reaches his true potential, Bundesliga Golden Boot rival and Bayern Munich goal machine Robert Lewandowski is optimistic that Haaland will become the “best forward in the world.”
“He’s a great player,” Lewandowski told CBS Sports. “He has great potential, but he’s still very young.
“In the future, he has the chance to become the best forward in the world, for sure.”
For Haaland to receive a compliment like that from, arguably, the best striker in the world at this moment in time, speaks volumes about his potential and what he can achieve in what is going to be a sensational career.

Lewandowski has made a career for himself by scoring hatfuls of goals, meaning he is more than qualified to make a judgement on what Haaland will be capable of in years to come.
Although £150million would smash the Blues’ transfer record, landing Haaland could be seen as the missing ingredient standing between themselves, the Premier League title and the prospect of European domination for years.
