AC Milan attacker Ante Rebic was stunned that Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori didn’t make England’s European Championship squad.
As quoted by Derbyderbyderby, Rebic expressed his disbelief that Tomori hadnt been selected by Gareth Southgate for the tournament.
The young defender really excelled following his switch from Stamford Bridge to the San Siro in January.

Tomori helped Milan finish second in Serie A, their highest position since 2012.
His performances earned praise from his peers, Italys national media and made Milan desperately want to sign him permanently.
Rebic confused by Tomori’s exclusion
But for all his good work on the continent, Southgate still hadnt seen enough to call him up for England duty.
Honestly, I’m a little surprised because by their choice of defenders, they all seem to have the same characteristics, said Rebic, a Rossoneri teammate of Tomoris and Croatian national.

“Fik is aggressive and fast. We talked and he told me he didn’t think he would be called up. So, I’m a little surprised.”
Defensive dilemmas
Ironically, central defence is one of Englands weakest points, especially in comparison to the wealth of attacking talent on disposal.
Southgate insisted on bringing Harry Maguire to the Euros, despite Manchester Uniteds captain obviously still not fully fit.
He also called up Brighton & Hove Albions Ben White in place of the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Whites only two senior Three Lions caps came in their pair of friendly fixtures ahead of this summers footballing festivities.
Fikayo forgotten by England
In fairness, Tomori has been out of the national team picture for a while.

His one and only appearance arrived in 2019 and hasnt been recalled to the camp since.
For the 23-year-olds domestic future, a move to Milan was wise. But for his international longevity, perhaps it was a hindrance.
