Weston McKennie has admitted the Derby della Mole against Torino was a difficult one and has warned Barcelona ahead of their Champions League meeting.
The American midfielder scored the equalizer for the Old Lady in the Derby della Mole on Saturday. Juventus eventually took all the three points through a Leonardo Bonucci goal.
“It was a tough game, we struggled in the first half, we didn’t have the right rhythm and the balance to overcome them,” McKennie told Sky Sport.
The former Schalke 04 man was subbed in in the second half and scored a few minutes later making the most of an assist of Juan Cuadrado.
“I wanted to do the best I could, because I always think about the team. I like to burst in, I did it and it worked.
“Cuadrado and I are not only similar, but we also have an excellent understanding,” he added.
Juventus will travel to Barcelona next week for the final game of the Champions League group stage.
“We are pumped to face Barcelona. We will study them and try to figure out how to get the best result.”
Juventus need to a victory by three goals to win the group stage. A win with a two-goal margin would also be enough provided the Old Lady score at least three.
Barcelona won the first leg 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium back in October.
