Genoa have officially sacked coach Rolando Maran and Davide Ballardini has been lined up as his successor.
The Rossoblu are 19th in Serie A after the 2-0 defeat to Benevento on Sunday and stretched the winless run to 12 consecutive League matches.
President Enrico Preziosi has decided to part ways with Maran, who was brought in to replace Davide Nicola last summer.
“Genoa CFC announce that they have relieved coach Rolando Maran from his post,” the club wrote in a statement.
“The club thanks the coach and his staff for their commitment.”
Davide Ballardini will, according to Sky Sport Italia, replace Maran at the helm. The report reveals he’s only formalities away from a return to the Marassi.
